Expersus Hip Stem
Ti6Al4V (ISO 5832-3), cementless
The OHST Expersus stem is a hip stem prosthesis for cementless or cemented anchoring in the femur.
In the cementless version, the Expersus stem is made of a titanium Ti6Al4V (ISO 5832-3) and is equipped with a 12/14 cone. The stem can be combined with both metal and ceramic femoral heads.
The cementless Expersus hip stem is fully coated with a titanium plasma spray and hydroxyl apatite coating except for the polished neck area. The coating accelerates the attachment of the bone to the implant and thus supports stable long-term anchorage.
In order to cater for the various femoral anatomies of the patients, the cementless stem comes in nine sizes for the standard CCD of 125° and for the CCD of 135°.
The stem body is double tapered to provide both self-clamping and the necessary rotational stability.
For both the cemented and cementless versions, this results in a wide range for reconstructing the natural joint geometry based on the bio-mechanical parameters of centre of rotation, leg length and CCD angle.
