Reinforcement Cage Mueller
The reinforcement cages are developed as a stable frame for retaining polyethylene cups to bridge bony defects of the acetabulum and to restore the center of rotation. The aim is to restore and preserve the hip joint as well as its mobility and load-bearing capacity.
The reinforcement cages are made of unalloyed titanium (ISO 5832-2 Grade 1). Flat head screws made of TiAl6V4 alloy (ISO 5832-3) are available. The outer surfaces of the cages are rough blasted, the inner surfaces are smooth blasted.
The Mueller reinforcement cage has a cranial tab for fixation in the ilium. If the acetabulum is badly damaged, the defect can be bridged using the reinforcement cage. The cage then will be fixed into the healthy and stable bone.
