Optimum Production Processes

In manufacture, our specialists work hand in hand: Over all work steps – beginning with material procurement through processing to the cleaned end product. Precisely defined responsibilities and processes avoid unnecessary coordination loops and misunderstandings – this saves money and time which we would prefer to use for your products.

Our modern production systems will safeguard state-of-the-art technologies, high precision and last but not least flexibility for you: we will manufacture individual or special products for you as well as small series or large quantities.

We also place the highest quality demands on all materials used. That is why we work only with ISO-certified suppliers from the EU, Switzerland and the USA.

OHST has its own manufacturing facilities for castings made of Co-Cr alloys and for the construction of the required tool moulds. The implant blanks set themselves apart through a particularly fine surface structure; this considerably reduces the post-processing.

We specialised in the machined processing of all implant materials: titanium, CoCrMo, implant steel, polyethylene, PEEK materials as well as instrument steels and plastics. CNC machines take over milling, turning and polishing processes.

In addition to the materials used, the finish affects the surface quality and thereby the service life of an implant the most. For surgical instruments, there are major effects on corrosion resistance and compatibility with other instruments.

Grinding/Polishing/Blasting
Different grinding and polishing rooms ensure that only identical materials can be processed together. This helps to avoid contaminations. In manufacturing raw surfaces by blasting, each blast material is processed in an individual chamber

We work closely with specialists from the industry to coat surfaces. Depending on customer requests, we can offer all coatings offered on the market.

The purification process occurs in several stages. An extensive ultrasound purification process frees the components from manufacturing residue. All implants are also additionally washed in automated disinfection machines before the packaging process in the clean room. Ultra-pure water from our own reverse osmosis facility and automated washing machines of the technology leader ensure high-quality purified end products.
